Group Therapy is a 75 - 90 minute session with five or more group members and one or more group therapy clinician(s). The purpose of group therapy is to provide a safe space for clients who are experiencing similar mental health concerns or symptoms. A group therapy setting allows for individuals to normalize their experiences and practice interacting with others as a form of support and strengthening interpersonal skills. Sessions are weekly and run for 6 to 8 weeks depending on the group. Prior to beginning group therapy, a potential group therapy member will meet with the group therapy clinician(s) for an introduction to the group and to determine whether group therapy is the best fit for treatment goals.
