What is therapy?

Therapy is the treatment of a person’s mental health, which impacts various areas of one’s life and can lead to negative concerns in those areas (e.g., family, work, relationships, self beliefs). At Honestly Olive, we strive to provide a safe space to help you better understand your concerns and introduce treatment interventions to improve your mental health. Therapy isn't easy, but you don’t have to do it alone. We are here to support you through your healing. We offer individualized treatment and multiple types of services including individual, couples and group therapy. Our goal is to treat the individual in a holistic manner, balancing the body, mind and spirit.

How do I start therapy?

The first step in starting therapy at Honestly Olive is to schedule a free Initial Phone Consultation. During the initial phone consultation, a clinician will introduce you to and review the services available at Honestly Olive. This is an opportunity for you to convey your interest and goals in therapy and briefly address current psychological concerns. The consultation screening will end with the consulting clinician scheduling the appropriate and recommended treatment for you (e.g., initial assessment, group therapy screening, psychological testing). You can schedule an initial phone consultation appointment via the Simple Practice Client Portal or by calling (312) 285-2644.

What is the Simple Practice Client Portal?

Simple Practice offers a client portal where you can schedule, reschedule or cancel appointments, message your clinician and pay for services. Prior to meeting for an Initial Assessment, you will be asked to register with Simple Practice, create a client account and complete brief paperwork. You can either log onto your client portal via our website by clicking Client Portal, via Simple Practice or by going to https://honestlyolivecounseling.clientsecure.me

Does everything remain confidential?

Everything discussed during appointments at Honestly Olive remains confidential and within the company. However, there are limits to confidentiality to ensure the safety of those involved. Specifically, if you indicate intent to harm yourself or another; and, if you disclose knowledge of child abuse or elder abuse and vulnerable adults Honestly Olive will break confidentiality in order to aid those involved. Other limits to confidentiality include if Honestly Olive is court-ordered to disclose certain information about your treatment. Lastly, Honestly Olive only provides relevant and pertinent confidential information to insurance companies for billing purposes.

In the case of consultation with other providers (e.g., psychiatrist, medical) or whomever a client wishes to disclose information too, established clients will complete and sign a Release of Information form. This will give permission to Honestly Olive to break confidentiality in order to provide the required information requested and to receive information from the other provider.

What do I do in case of an emergency?

If you need immediate assistance, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.

What happens if I miss or cancel an appointment?

Our goal is to provide quality care to all our clients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other clients as well. We require 24 hour advance notice for all cancellations or rescheduling via phone, email or the Simple Practice Client Portal. If you cancel or reschedule under 24 hours or miss your appointment without notification, a fee will apply. All fees will automatically be charged to your registered form of payment on your Simple Practice Client Portal.
